Cheese, Organic Dale End Cheddar 500g
Our herd of Dairy Shorthorn cows including Willow, Minnie and Cherry Blossom work hard to produce the creamy milk at Old Botton Farm parlour, which is then brought to our Creamery, less than half a mile away. We leave the milk unpasteurised to give the cheese it’s unique taste of the varied grasses found in Botton Village fields. Hand-made at Botton Village Creamery with vegetarian rennet, where it is matured on wooden shelving, lovingly turned and washed by people we support.
Our cheddar is traditional cloth bound cheddar which is aged for a minimum of six months. It has a tangy and citrus like taste with a long lasting flavour. A wonderful cheddar that gets the taste buds at the back of your mouth tingling.
For your cheese to arrive as fresh as possible, we will send it by 1st Class post or depending on weight by courier. When the shipping calculation is shown at checkout it will say heavy 2nd class but it will arrive to you by 1st.
When we're preparing your order we’ll try to get pretty close to what you need, but hand cutting cheese is an art, not a science, so it may be that you end up with a few extra grams to enjoy.

We love your tasty cheese and find the way it is wrapped and the way it is packaged top class. We also love the way it comes with a personal note. We order by post as don't live nearby.
I love strong cheese and this didn't disappoint. However, it was very hard; maybe your online catalogue can indicate which are hard cheeses and which are not so hard? That would be a great help.
In the early seventies I was a social work trainee on placement at Botton Village. I remembered the cheese from then and found it tasted just as good now. I will continue to order it from time to time. It arrived beautifully packed and still cold.
Firm cheddar with good full flavour
Prompt delivery; packaging mostly biodegradable (box, wood shavings, tissue paper) and rest (foil insulation, freezer pack) can be re-used. Cheese delicious, the real thing!
