What better way to celebrate National Wine and Cheese Day on 25 July than by indulging in artisan cheeses, made with care from field to fork?
We’re delighted to have teamed up with Stonewell Spring, an independent delicatessen and wine bar in Lancaster, who stock some of our award-winning cheese made in Botton Creamery, based in our Botton Village community nestled in the North York Moors.
Our cheese is more than just delicious – it tells a story of connection, care, and community.

Farm to Fork with Purpose
At Camphill Village Trust, we support adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems to live more independently and thrive as part of inclusive communities.
In our Botton Village community, the people we support are part of the cheesemaking process, by milking and caring for the cows on our farms. The cheese is then crafted in our on-site creamery and sold in our social enterprise shops and cafés across England— where our community members can volunteer, gain retail experience and work in a supported setting
It’s a true farm-to-fork approach, with social impact at its heart.
From the dairy to the shop counter, each stage in the cheesemaking journey is part of our Nature-Based Therapies and Skills Programme, which gives people the opportunity to learn practical skills, build confidence and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of being close to nature.
A Taste of Botton Village, Handpicked by Stonewell Spring
To mark National Wine and Cheese Day, Stonewell Spring have curated a perfect pairing from their wine collection to go with our signature cheeses:
🧀 Botton Gouda – Rich yet delicate, this organic alpine-style cheese has a supple and fresh profile, reminiscent of the Yorkshire fields. It’s beautifully complemented by Le Charme Sauvignon Blanc, a bright white wine with uplifting citrus notes.
🧀 Summerfields – Made with milk from cows that graze on buttercup meadows, this cheese offers a gentle, nutty character. Pair it with the Jean Didier Colombard, whose crisp, light flavour cuts through with finesse.

🧀 Dale End – A traditional clothbound cheddar with a mature, tangy finish. It’s perfectly matched with Mineralium Chenin Blanc, a semi-dry wine which lets this showstopping cheddar’s bold flavour shine.

Together, these pairings offer a delicious way to celebrate the craft and community behind our cheese—and the people who help make it all possible.
A Collaboration Rooted in Shared Values
We’re thrilled to partner with Stonewell Spring, who share our passion for ethical, sustainable produce with a local story. Their support not only helps us showcase our handmade cheese to new audiences but also champions the abilities and contributions of people we support across our communities.
So, this National Wine and Cheese Day, raise a glass to great flavour with a meaningful twist. Raise a glass to award-winning cheese which does great things - both in the community and on your plate.
